This packed lunch will make you feel like you’re on a quest with Will.
It might not be the most gourmet lunch ever, but based on what Rangers eat throughout the series, it’s likely similar to what Will might pack if he went to school these days.
Ready to go? Here’s what you’ll need
Ranger’s Apprentice packed lunch
Ingredients
- Apple
- Cheese
- Bread roll
- Meat (ham, jerky, etc. – optional)
- Coffee with honey
Method
While Rangers do make stew when they have the chance, quick meals are all about fast fuel – so leaving the ingredients uncooked is best. Throughout the series, Will eats different types of meat, so feel free to include some easy-to-pack meat like ham slices or beef jerky in your lunchbox. Don’t like meat? Swap it out for a hard-boiled egg or two.
To make the coffee lunchbox-friendly, pack it in a leak-proof bottle – or better yet, a thermos to keep it warm. If you don’t want caffeine, use decaf coffee instead of regular. If you don’t like coffee, you can also skip the drink or swap it for chocolate milk instead. If you do pack milk, just make sure to include an ice pack so that it stays cold during the day.
