Author talk and book signing: Kate Forsyth- Explore Pre-Raphaelite passion with this bestselling novelist

Join Kate Forsyth to hear about her captivating reimagining of the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ story, set amongst the intimate intrigues of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.

In 1890, the artist Edward Burne-Jones finished a monumental series of paintings inspired by Sleeping Beauty. Told by the voices of four extraordinary women – the wives, mistresses and muses of the famous artists of the Pre-Raphaelite circle – Kate Forsyth’s novel Beauty in thorns spins the story of love, desire, obsession and tragedy that lies behind the creation of these famous paintings.

Kate Forsyth wrote her first novel at the age of seven, and has since sold more than a million copies around the world. Her books include Bitter greens, The wild girl and The beast’s garden. Recently voted one of Australia’s favourite 15 novelists, she has a BA in literature, a MA in creative writing and a doctorate in fairytale studies, and is also an accredited master storyteller with the Australian Guild of Storytellers.

After her talk, join Kate for a book signing in the Gallery Shop.
